Quality Control Supervisor
Summary:
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality control department and ensuring that all
products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves managing a team of quality
control inspectors, implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, and collaborating with other
departments to resolve quality-related issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Lead, mentor, and train a team of quality control inspectors.
 Schedule and assign daily tasks to the QC team to ensure efficient workflow.
 Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
 Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the department.
 Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and documentation (e.g., Standard Operating
Procedures - SOPs, inspection plans, test methods).
 Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, such as defect rates, customer
complaints, and non-conformance reports.
 Oversee incoming material inspections, in-process inspections, and final product inspections.
 Ensure all inspection and testing equipment is calibrated and maintained.
 Investigate and analyze the root causes of quality issues and product defects.
 Collaborate with production and engineering to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
 Prepare and present quality reports to management.
 Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies (e.g., ISO 9001,
FDA regulations, etc.).
 Participate in internal and external quality audits.
 Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance product quality and efficiency.
 Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
Required Qualifications:
 Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
 Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing
environment. At least 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership position.
 Strong knowledge of quality control principles, tools, and methodologies (e.g., statistical process control -
SPC, FMEA).
 Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
 Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
 Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the
organization.
 Proficiency in using quality control software and Microsoft Office Suite.
 Certified Green or Black Belt a plus
 Internal audit experience is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) from the American
Society for Quality (ASQ).
Experience in a specific manufacturing industry (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical devices, electronics).
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
