Specializing in precision machining and metal fabrication, our Sanmina Newark, California facility has 15 years experience in both precision and large format solutions for industrial, semiconductor, clean technology and oil & gas markets. We provide comprehensive engineering and test capabilities: from in-house and hydrostatic leak-testing of medium and large format vacuum chambers to machining of precision stainless steel mechanisms. We have the capacity to machine components up to 3 meters. Our metal fabrication services include grinding, vacuum welding, heat treating, plating and anodizing. We can process many advanced materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, ferrous-nonferrous and other exotic alloys
As the Sr. Quality Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing a world class quality department and driving plant wide continuous improvement that results in unparalleled quality performance. You will have the opportunity to reinforce foundational quality principals, as we develop innovative manufacturing and inspection processes at the leading edge of automation and machining technology. This position will be responsible for managing, coordinating and administering all functions of the site’s Quality Management System, including receiving inspection activities, quality engineering, supplier quality management and the QC laboratory.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor QA Department, consisting of quality engineers, receiving inspection, and QC personnel
• Be an outspoken advocate for Quality First throughout the plant
• Expediently and effectively communicate with customers on quality escapes, visits, escalations, etc.
• Maintain and improve the site QMS (including NCR and CAPA system, internal audit, training, etc.)
• Maintain the site QMS compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100:2016 by coordinating and responded to site certification audits
• Responsible for ensuring effective quality planning (including PFMEAs, process flows and control plans) for NPI and production parts.
• Develop additionally sources of quality data and track and report key Quality-related performance indicators (KPIs), including first pass yield and scrap rates.
• Manage and improve supplier quality
• Be an advocate for lean and six sigma manufacturing principles and drive continuous
• Drive cross functional projects with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering, to verify and validate existing manufacturing processes and capabilities
• Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews with engineering
• Address customer escapes by driving cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions
Education and Experience:
• 8+ years track record of success in quality engineering or related roles in semiconductor capital equipment
• Strong customer presence, including the ability to listen and build positive relationships with customers
• A true team player with the ability to “stand his or her ground” when challenged and who can push back in a constructive manner
• Demonstrated track record of developing skills in team members to create a high-performance group; sets, drives and meets aggressive goals for herself/himself and those around her/him
• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hard-working culture
• Ability to balance short-term and long-term objective
• Experience with reading and interpreting GD&T requirements required
• Detailed knowledge and hands on experience with quality tools including process flowcharts, FMEA’s, control plans, CAPA, RCCA and 8D required
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified environment required. AS9100 a plus.
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies including statistical analysis techniques (Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control (SPC), etc) preferred.
• Experience with machining and system integration/assembly preferred
• Experience with CMMs and laser inspection systems preferred
• Certified Green or Black belt a plus
• Internal audit experience a plus
• Oracle (ERP) experience desirable
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Salary Range (annual): $ 120000 - $140000
