Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Purpose: Works in concert with Quality Engineering and Compliance staff with the primary focus of assisting as needed to ensure that Manufacturing and Quality processes produce articles that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Nature of Duties:
The duties of the Quality Technician include but are not limited to the following:
- investigate Root Cause and help develop corrective actions
- resolve process issues and ensure workmanship standards are maintained
- assist during first article/first piece verifications
- assist the Compliance Group during process audits as needed
- complete or provide input to rejection reports
- assist and/or verify that activities, items, and hardware are in compliance with documented customer requirements, product work instruction, and procedures.
- Must maintain a proactive approach on resolving issues while maintaining a sense of urgency completing assignments on time.
Education, Experience, and skill sets:
- Two year technical degree in a manufacturing, mechanical, or electronic engineering type discipline is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in an OEM or Contract Manufacturing Environment, IPC-A-610 CIS certification, and J-STD-001 CIS certification training would be a strong plus.
- Employee must have solid computer skills utilizing the common computer tools i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Employee should have the ability to seek out and obtain pertinent information with regard to specific problems, draw appropriate conclusions, and move to resolution.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with engineering and management.
- Must be team player.
