Intern - Quality Data Analyst
Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Summer Intern to join our Quality Assurance team located in Carrollton, TX. In the capacity of a Summer Intern in Quality Data Analysis, the incumbent will be afforded the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge within a dynamic and rigorous environment. This role involves membership in a team tasked with designing and implementing data analysis using tools like 42Q, Oracle, or other Sanmina-supported ERP systems, ensuring output aligns with Engineering specifications. . Furthermore, the intern will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at augmenting the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing operations.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
- Generate and maintain quality reports, dashboards, charts, and data summaries to support the requirements of engineering and management.
- Analyze production, inspection, RMA, and quality trend data to identify persistent issues, defects, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Provide support to Quality Engineers through data extraction, analysis, and report preparation for investigations, audits, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement activities.
- Develop customized reports based on specific engineering and customer requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy and organization of electronic quality records and databases.
- Communicate findings and report status effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Management teams.
- Monitor and track quality metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), defects, yield trends, and nonconformance data.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations, summaries, and supporting documentation for meetings and audits.
- Effectively prioritize multiple tasks and requests while adhering to deadlines within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of company and customer data.
- Support compliance with company procedures, ISO standards, and customer requirements.
Education and Experience
- Advanced computer skills are mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Drive, Minitab, and database systems is required.
- Demonstrated experience in creating reports, spreadsheets, charts, pivot tables, and data analysis summaries is necessary.
- Possession of strong multitasking and organizational capabilities is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to communicate professionally with Engineering teams and cross-functional departments is expected.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills are requisite.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
- Experience with ERP/MES systems, quality systems, or manufacturing databases is preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Completion of third year college in a relevant degree is desirable.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage
Physical Demands
Work is conducted within both an office and a manufacturing environment. - Frequent interaction with Engineering, Quality, and Operations personnel is required.
- The ability to effectively manage multiple assignments with fluctuating priorities is necessary.
