IT Senior Project Manager

Purpose of this role:

To be the pro-active interface between IT organizations and business process owners, to drive system and process improvements, to capture requirements and to manage changes. 

The IT Senior Project Manager is needed to manage projects within the IT GBS EMEA project portfolio within approved budgets/ timelines and is responsible for delivery of those projects. Additionally, the IT Senior Project Manager’s responsibilities is to manage GBS resources under her/his responsibility within projects assigned to her/him and ensure PLMC guidelines are strictly followed within her/his projects.

IT Senior Project Manager monitors his projects progress and communicates to project team members and stakeholders. 

Expected outcome: 

1. Close follow-up of  activities for projects under her/his responsibility.

2. Continuous monitoring of projects deliverables 

3. Direct project BA activities when required

4. Project Resource management & Planning.

5. Continuous self-development of business process/systems knowledge

6. Initiation of escalations as required based on criticality of issues - within projects or through P2/P1 SRs.

7. Responsible for all administrative activities for projects under her/his responsibility.

8. Responsible for providing regular & documented project status for projects under her/his responsibility.

Main duties:

Manage IT projects & resources within the IT GBS EMEA Portfolio: Overall  Responsible person for the delivery of the projects and within SANM PMLC guidelines and best practices.

  • Define and clarify project scope for project he/she is assigned to.

  • Identify resources required for projects he/she is assigned to. 

  • Coordinate project’s activities, assign work to project team members

  • Organize team work and set deadlines to achieve targets within project he/she is assigned to.

  • Follow and drive project deliverables, maintain project plans as per PLMC

  • Manage project risks and escalate as required, on time. 

  • Monitor overall progress and use of project resources, initiate corrective action where necessary

  • Apply change control as required

  • Report on project progress, communication with project team & stakeholders

  • Execute project administration & project compliance

  • Provide all necessary and requested reports, analysis & metrics to Senior Management as and when required. 

  • Activities and assignments as required. 

Sanmina Corporate Systems knowledge: IT Senior Project Manager will continuously develop his/her knowledge of SANM Corporate systems in order to be able to manage changes around those. 

Business process knowledge: IT Senior Project Manager will need to continuously develop his business process knowledge and will be asked to do Business Analyst/Project manager activities for projects/as required. 

Business System knowledge: The IT Senior Project Manager will need to keep increasing his knowledge about business systems used in the company and will try as much as possible to stay informed about all business processes changes decided within the company and new technologies used in SANM.

Teamwork: The IT Senior Project Manager is expected to lead project team members both internally and when liaising with colleagues in other plants/regions.  It may also be required to liaise closely with customers to communicate about SANM’s systems capability or if required discuss the integration of customers systems with SANM’s. 

 

General Profile Requirement: 

  • Good positive manner and behave in a professional and acceptable fashion

  • Degree or Diploma in a relevant, Engineering or Computer Sciences discipline

  • Driving license and a current full passport

  • Good command of English; further language skills would also be a benefit

  • Good communicator with the ability to work at all levels in a positive and constructive manner

  • Flexible with respect to working hours and foreign travel, on the basis that overtime is expected and allowed for in the employee salary

  • Organizational and leadership skills

  • At least 10 years work experience in manufacturing environment
