We are currently recruiting highly qualified candidates, whose background and career goals meet our needs, for the following position in our Huntsville, AL facility. Please note that due to our Department of Defense contract requirements, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
FACILITIES MANAGER
The Facilities Manager provides leadership to a group responsible for the maintenance of company facilities. This person will be responsible for implementing and maintaining facility maintenance management system for all facility equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Maintaining building systems.
- Managing day to day building operations & maintenance staff.
- Serving as prime interface with external contractors for services as required (work plans, purchase requisitions, invoicing).
- Preparing scope of work and tender packages when required for sub-contractor work.
- Developing overall budget for facility operations & maintenance.
- Assisting in development of operational procedures for fire alarm monitoring and control system and building access control system.
- Interfacing with production line management for new equipment construction and renovations within the lab areas.
- Establishing and maintaining administrative privileges for operation and programming of the building automated control system.
- Ensuring facility “help line” is established and functional and all requests are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assessing sites and locations for potential relocation, and coordinating and conducting site tours for existing location.
OTHER JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for selecting and developing people. Works with employees to plan, assign, and monitor individual objectives of unit members, based on overall group objectives and priorities.
- Responsible for providing timely and useful feedback to staff members on their performance and development plan.
- Applying seasoned Facilities Operations knowledge and coaching skills to lead team in establishing, maintaining and enhancing a high quality of facility maintenance.
- Participating in the group’s work by overseeing and advising others, or by contributing directly to the development of more complex solutions.
Providing in-depth knowledge of facilities mechanical, electrical, HVAC and emergency support systems to
Education and Experience
- Degree in Facilities Management or related field or years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 12 years of Facility Maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of environmental, health and safety legislation and best practices is required.
