Equipment Ownership & Maintenance Strategy
-
Serve as the primary subject matter expert for SMT lines, including pick-and-place machines (e.g., Panasonic, Fuji), reflow ovens, and SPI/AOI systems.

Oversee and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) schedules to minimize machine downtime.

Lead troubleshooting and complex repairs of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic subsystems.

Establish and enforce rigorous adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and maintain compliance with quality certifications, including ISO 9001 and IPC-A-610 standards for electronic assemblies.

Drive the manufacturing lines toward achieving and sustaining a world-class 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) organization.
Process Optimization & Yield Improvement

Define and optimize equipment parameters to enhance first-pass yield and reduce component attrition.

Execute Design of Experiments (DOE) and implement statistical process control (SPC) to minimize process defects.

Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and 8D problem-solving for equipment-related quality escapes.
New Product Introduction (NPI) & Projects

Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles are met for new PCBA layouts.

Spearhead the installation, commissioning, and validation of new SMT equipment.

Identify and lead cost-reduction and automation projects.
Leadership & Mentorship

Provide technical guidance, training, and troubleshooting support to junior technicians and engineers.

Manage spare parts strategies, vendor communications, and service contracts.
Qualifications & Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience as an SMT/Equipment Engineer in a high-volume PCBA manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in programming, profiling, and tuning SMT pick-and-place and reflow systems.

Understanding of solder paste printing, stencil design, and defect troubleshooting.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.

Good analytical and problem-solving abilities and cross-functional communication skills
