Process Engineer
5A (Monday-Friday)
Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for establishing and evaluating all PCBA manufacturing processes, with high focus on the Surface Mount Technology and Wave Soldering. Review procedure and supporting documents for all PCBA manufacturing processes including wave, selective soldering and hand soldering. Provide training and recommendations and rationalization for updates. Support and evaluate various PCBA process types (water soluble, no-clean, lead-free) and drive best chemicals selections based on product and process requirements. Provide programming needs and technical supports for various soldering equipment: Thermal profile monitoring system, Wave soldering profiling, Selective Wave soldering machine, BGA rework machine, X-ray machines (2D and 3D) and press fit equipment. This role will look into continuous improvement and implementation of best operational methodologies. Lead continuous improvement projects on defect reduction, cost-saving and corrective/preventative action plans. Process engineer will provide daily support to manufacturing activities. Monitoring and improving PCBA manufacturing quality and coordinate process resolution with other team members.
Nature of Duties and Skills
- Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
- Strong background in SMT processes and process development with the ability to serve as a technical representative
- Experience in providing technical leadership and training to production teams
- Familiar with process and equipment validations utilizing IQ/OQ/PQ methodology
- Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
- Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes
- Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
- Review Component Data Sheet to determine temperature profile
- Perform process simulations
- Ability to occasionally work late shifts

- Perform risk assessments
- Provide process documentation and operating instructions for special soldering processes
Education/Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant job experience preferably in Electronics Manufacturing or equivalent
- CAD or AutoCAD, MS Office, Silicon Expert and Solid Works skills preferred
- An associated degree in Engineering or equivalent years of experience is required
- MS in Engineering Discipline with minimum five years experience in contract manufacturing is a strong plus
