Job Purpose:
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to join our team. As an EHS Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for ensuring the organization complies with all environmental, health and safety regulations while making some of the most complex Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) on the planet. The EHS engineer will spend most of their time on the factory floor, partnering with the manufacturing, engineering, and facilities to ensure a safe workplace for all our employees.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
- Continuously review and update company policies, adhere to local, state and federal regulations.
- Train and oversee employees on health and safety regulations.
- Monitor personnel and work space.
- Encourage and advocate for safer work equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Track the number of incidents and produce reports.
- Monitor exposure to certain hazardous chemicals.
- Drive the 8D analysis of incidents to maximize the learning’s and avoid recurrence.
- Coordinate health and safety programs such as LOTO, noise control, PPEs, and hazard assessments.
- Participate in our company’s project engineering designing activities.
- Collect process data such as air velocity, air contaminants, and noise monitoring.
- Train and lead the ERT team to adequately handle safety events 24/7.
- Development of environmental, health, and safety communications.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiar with the chemicals, gasses, and equipment used in the PCB industry.
- Ability to perform audits; write and submit reports.
- Must be familiar with environmental and OSHA regulations for Santa Clara County.
- Good time-management skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with the Santa Clara County regulating bodies is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- BS Degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering or environmental engineering preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience.
- Experience working in an environmental/safety role in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Salary Range(annual): $70,000.00 - $90,000.00- Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
