OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:

  • Be part of a product development team, bringing leading-­edge products to market including class 3 medical devices.
  • Analysis of manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement. This includes conducting time studies, workflow analysis, and implementing lean manufacturing principles.
  • Support customer engagement for new products and assist with new Business Opportunity Analysis.
  • Preparation/Presentation of accurate, timely, & competitive quotations and product proposals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support quotation process by analysing potential new customer data packs and estimate required process steps and cycle times, highlighting potential challenges or atypical requirements.
  • Estimation of all Non Recurring Expenses (NRE), equipment requirements and resource costs for new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with corporate business development managers, engineering, and quality and production teams to gather necessary information for quotations.
  • Monitor status of new products and ensure effective execution of projects according to required product specification, internal procedures and customer expectations.
  • Ensure that all quotes are compatible with Corporate Reporting standards.
  • Provide Engineering support for all activities in the product development process.
  • Prepare plans for NPI phases and coordinate with all stakeholders and ensure good quality products.
  • Planning and process time studies of existing processes to support new and existing customers.
  • Ensure effective execution of projects according to required product specification, internal procedures and customer expectations.
  • Configure assembly processes, sequence of activities, and material handling toward lean manufacturing practices.
  • Provide DFx with focus on DFM & DFA on New Product opportunities.

  •     Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.

Health & Safety:

  •     Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations.

 

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • NFQ Level 8 Degree in an Engineering discipline (production, process, and                operations).

 

Core Competencies:

  • Good communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers and internal personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent PC skills especially MS-Excel.
  • Demonstrates strong Attention to detail.
  • Flexible & capable of working under pressure. Business or Financial basic knowledge on profitability, return on investment, carrying costs etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Project Management Qualification and /or experience.
  • Experience with medical devices production, electronics, assembly or cleanroom processes.

Plastics moldings knowledge.
