Job Purpose:

Oversees the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products. Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff.  Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. Acts as liaison with engineering in releasing new products. Develops systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:


Lead a group of Engineers that support the production of Spacecraft hardware  
 Responsible for manufacturing and test engineering, collaboration with customer on implementation of Assy and Test work instructions/ test procedures, and test set-ups.
Engineering team will also oversee the Assy and Test process, proposing process improvements, and training.
 Responsible for presentations to customer in order to get approval to start production, and restart production in case of technical problems.
 Responsible for monitoring and proposing improvements to the production process and maintaining department KPIs. Assists with labor time study cycle time’s assessment.
 Responsible for cross-training as required to support production activities and lead internal troubleshooting efforts, before reaching out to customer engineering
 Eng team will assist customer Responsible Engineers (RE) with investigations and hardware performance/quality reviews and dispositions.
 Work with other departments and engineering teams to integrate new products into purchasing and manufacturing systems
 Manage and supervise preventive maintenance activities to ensure that equipment repairs and calibration services are performed on a timely basis and ensure that they
are cost effective, efficient and meet company’s standards
 Eng team is responsible for the change orders review, impact assessment, disposition and approval in the PDM system

Education and Experience:


 Must be a U.S. Person
 Bachelors degree in one of the following required:  Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or
Aerospace Engineering
 7 years of Spacecraft hardware engineering support experience
 Experience with RF Active& Passive hardware, Power and Controls Test Measurement/Manufacturing
 At least 2 years of management experience
 Candidate should be a good fit with the mission and informal culture, and have experience motivating employees to share team goals

Preferred Qualifications:
 MS degree in one of the following:  Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
 10 years of relevant experience including RF Active& Passive hardware, Power and Controls Test Measurement/Manufacturing
 Familiarity with satellite design and testing obtained through educational training and/or on-the-job experience in a related field
 Skilled with Microsoft Office. Strong collaboration, written and communication skills.
 5 years of relevant management experience

Salary Range(annual): $155,000 - 175,000
