JOB TITLE: Logistics Graduate

OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:
Ensures legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments. Reviews contracts for required clauses and identifies omissions. The candidate will interface with internal and external customers, freight forwarders, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment. Selects carrier/forwarder for shipment of products and prepares documents for freight forwarders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Document shipments to ensure that they are in compliance with customs rules and regulations.
- Categorise shipments according to a tariff coding system.
- Maintain control and ensure regulations to all import and export processes and monitor work according to corporate and local policies and evaluate all new custom requirements to ensure we work according to standard procedures.
- Coordinate with all internal departments to establish an efficient export and import schedule.
- Provide an efficient interface with freight forwarders and administer all freight logistics and provide optimal level of customer services and resolve all shipment issues.
- Perform all record keeping processes and maintain records of all entry.
- Evaluate all items for import and ensure accuracy in all values and collaborate with customer brokers to provide clearance of all imports and maintain required documents.
- Evaluate the quotes fares and services offered from prospective transporters on the market.
- Make sure goods have the proper documentation and information to pass customs
- Ensure operative processes are finished at a previously agreed-upon time.
- Follow up logistical organisation of products; ensure that products have been transported in a correct and timely fashion.
- Maintain a good flow of communication with shipper and freight forwarders.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, typing up reports and maintaining email correspondence.
- Perform audits on all import and export files on regular basis.
- Ensure all fright invoices are processed, monitored and approved through our invoice provider.
- Management of premium freight and recovery of same. Alignment to Corporate lanes /contracts.
- Duty management/avoidance through inward processing and management of this through revenue audits.
- Generate and submit Intrastat reports for ROS Online on a monthly basis.
- Generate and/or support the submission of quarterly Standard Bill of Discharge reports to Revenue.

- Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations.
MEASUREMENTS:
- Measurements will be tracked against plant metrics and MBOs tracked as per the annual appraisal process.
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related discipline.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience in transportation/logistics is preferred.
