General Responsibility:

This position is is a key role on the leadership team of our Precision Machining and Integration facility. The planning manager will help us maximize cash flows, sales, and services levels. The associated duties include managing all aspects of demand forecasting and supply planning.

The successful candidate will provide strong day-to-day leadership and management of all planning resources to ensure that the team is effective in aligning customer demand and production capacity. The planning manager will have strong communication skills and bring along a “can-do” attitude in all they do. 

Specific responsibilities:                                               

  • Drive the revenue forecasting cadence for the monthly and quarterly business reviews.
  • Ensure that data needed to run MRP system is accurate at all times, including customer order backlog, supplier purchase orders, work orders and inventory levels.
  • Verify that MRP Buy and Make signals are accurately aligned with customer orders, open purchase orders and inventory levels.
  • Review and adjust the item master specifications used for planning and costing to ensure they are accurate and configured to minimize cumulative lead times. This includes verifying details such as part lead times, make/buy decisions, cost, direct/indirect labor, lot sizes, and units of measure.
  • Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering and Production to optimize lot sizes for cost, shortest lead-times and quality control.
  • Own the daily production planning meeting; support efforts to reduce late order backlog and improve on-time delivery to customers. Ensure that plan-versus-actual gaps are promptly identified, and corrective actions are implemented to meet OTD and revenue targets.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Plant Manager, ensuring alignment on priorities, strategies, and schedules throughout the factory.
  • Work closely with Program Management teams on the forecast and forward-looking view of customer demand.
  • Drive the creation of detailed capacity plans for CNC Machining and System Integration Production areas. Identify and drive solutions for demand and capacity conflicts.
  • Identify risks and implement plans to mitigate disruptions to revenue plans. Provide timely and effective escalations to the appropriate management level.
  • Report key performance indicators (KPIs) for planning and regularly report performance metrics to stakeholders. Create and timely communicate formal reports to the Corporation Headquarters.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and cross-functional leadership to the planning team, promoting a culture of systematic problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Learn the Sanmina Performance Excellence requirements for Planning and close gaps to increase performance.

Skill, Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of experience in Scheduling/Planning, Materials Management and/or Project Management in a MRP manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced experience in Excel and workbooks
  • The ability to communicate effectively in verbal, written and presentations modes.
  • Demonstrated track record of using Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques such as SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning)
  • Ability to balance short-term and long-term objectives
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hard-working culture
  • Demonstrated track record of developing skills in team members to build a high performing team.

Industry Background:            

Prior experience of working in precision machining or semiconductor equipment manufacturing environments is essential.

Salary Range(annual): $110,000 - $150,000 . Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.  The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
