Key Responsibilities

  • Substance Governance & FMD Auditing: Audit components down to the single homogenous material layer to enforce strict thresholds.
  • Global Chemical Compliance: Drive proactive data collection, enforce compliance and manage supply chain data for core and emerging directives including but not limited to RoHS, REACH, POPs, CA Prop 65, and TSCA, PFAS, Ozone Depleting Substances, the Minamata Convention (Mercury), and Biocides.
  • Regional Mandates & ESG ESG/Circular Economy: Execute granular tracking for France Decree (Precious Metals & Rare Earths) and ensure alignment with EU Taxonomy/ESRS E2-5 for "Substances of Concern". Validate metallurgy against niche jurisdictions including Swiss ORRChem, SASO/Saudi RoHS, and France's Dangerous Substances List.
  • Responsible Sourcing & Packaging: Govern Conflict and Extended Minerals Declarations (CMRT/EMRT) via the RMI. Align product safety and packaging data with the CLP Regulation and EU Packaging Waste Directive (94/62/EC / PPWR).

Qualifications & Professional Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Law, or a strictly related technical domain.
  • Experience: 3 years of dedicated professional experience in Material Compliance. Direct experience within a Tier-1 EMS environment is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Complete fluency in interpreting Full Material Disclosures (FMDs), safety data sheets (SDS), and complex electronic component specifications.
  • System & Tool Proficiency: Expert use of PLM systems, component databases, and compliance aggregation suites
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional consulting skills with the ability to push back on OEM design selections, negotiate with global suppliers, and confidently defend compliance postures to client executives.
