The Fixed Assets Accountant supports Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects across company
manufacturing facilities in India. This role ensures proper accounting, compliance, and accurate
reporting for property, plant, and equipment (PP&E) in accordance with company policy and
GAAP standards.
Key Responsibilities
CapEx Review & Capitalization: Review capital expenditures to verify accuracy and
determine proper treatment (capitalization vs. expensing) based on company threshold
guidelines.
Plant Partnership: Serve as the primary point of contact for fixed asset projects across
all India plants, maintaining active communication between Corporate and local plant
teams regarding project status.
Transactional Accounting & Reporting: Perform timely preparation of journal entries,
capitalization activities, and fixed asset roll-forward schedules. Prepare regular monthly,
quarterly, and annual PP&E schedules and reports.
Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts for PP&E and accumulated
depreciation in compliance with GAAP and internal policy guidelines.
Compliance & Internal Controls: Enforce internal controls and company policies to
mitigate risk, optimize operational efficiency, and maintain data integrity.
Audit Support: Support both internal and external financial audits by preparing and
providing required supporting documentation.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: 2 to 5+ years of fixed asset accounting experience; experience within a
manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
o Strong working knowledge of standard GAAP guidelines regarding PP&E.
o Proficiency or familiarity with enterprise ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a
plus.
