Roles:

The Role of the Manager in Test Engineering / F A department is to lead, guide, mentor and coach the team to meet the TE department KPI thru Skill development thru training, Test equipment innovation, implementing cost-effective methods to ensure no tester down time. Ensuring Tester OEE met or exceed the target. Also ensure SANMINA SOP’s are met during NPI execution and production run.

 

Academic Qualification / Job Qualification:

  1. Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering with more than 20 years experience (or)
  2. B. E in Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation with 18 years experience and above

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure SOP’s are created for team responsibilities related 5S, Spares, Down time reduction, False failure reduction, Change over, Validation, Tester & Fixture buy off, FPY improvement, Escalation, Supplier support, Production plan execution & PM
  2. Ensure the overall project plan for the Tester Equipment & Test Fixtures validation and qualification are executed on timely manner.
  3. Lead, Train and guide the team to achieve the department KPI’s.
  4. Lead the project related to Product yield improvement, Scrap reduction and down time reduction.
  5. Timely review of the forecast and plan the Tester Capacity for production and debug
  6. Ensure the SOP’s are followed during the validation of the Test Fixtures and Equipments.
  7. Ensure SOP’s and checklists are available to ensure supplier developed testers, fixtures and SW are meeting standard requirements
  8. Daily review meetings to be conducted, summary of the KPI score card should be used to drive for improvement.
  9. Ensure team participation in CFT meeting and act on the escalated issues.
  10. Verify the IQ, OQ protocol inputs and WI inputs are meeting the CTQ’s and give improvement feedback.
  11. Ensure periodic audits are carried out and give improvement feedback to the sustenance team

 

 

  1. Guide the CFT team and Sustenance team on Failure analysis and CAPA on false failures to improve the first pass yield in the ICT and FCT
  2. Cross check the Installation and Operational qualification plan prepared by the CFT members.
  3. Ensure preventive maintenance plan for the tester, fixture & burn in chamber etc are executed
  4. Ensure periodic audit conducted on asset, spares inventory and tally with the ordered vs usage
  5. Ensure periodic audit conducted on the systems and procedures based on SOP’s, Improvements are implemented based on the new product requirements
  6. Ensure cross training and skill matrix improvement of the team
  7. Test innovation projects for cost savings
  8. Test capacity planning to meet the forecast for the regular and NPI productions
  9. Quarterly budget planning for the tester spare, improvements and innovations
  10. Technology road map and Test strategy for the plant to meet the new customers and to meet new technology.
  11. Active participation in EHS related activities like Identification of aspects and Impacts, HIRA, Emergency preparedness , continuous improvements etc and enable to report about hazardous situations to respective supervisor / department managers as required.

 

Authority:

  1. Authorized to take quick and correct decisions based on the Test SOPs and Customer

documents.

  1. Authorized to create Test SOPs documents.
  2. Initiate CFT discussion related to Line stop due to product quality issues found during ICT / FCT failures related to component, workmanship or process related issues and ensure the solution is provided to restart the line.
  3. Report the component, FW related failures of the product to customer for resolving and improve FPY
  4. Authorized to approve the CAPA for the test related issues
  5. Authorized to approve the IQ, OQ, PQ, validation reports.

Authorized to do appraisal and skill matrix evaluation for team members
