Vice President, Finance & Controller - Defense Division

Reporting Relationships
The VP, Finance & Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will direct and control all the financial activities of the Federal Systems Division. Acting as the Segment CFO and supporting the business President in driving profitability and asset manager metrics to meet and exceed the Division’s expectations and shareholder value add targets. Interact internally and externally with executive level management, including customer & supplier executives, requiring negotiation of critical financial related matters. Ensure strong financial governance while adhering to SOX requirements and Sanmina-SCI’s financial policies and procedures. Continually provide leadership, support and mentoring to the finance team within Federal Systems.
Nature of Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure Federal Systems is in compliance with SOX controls and applicable company financial policies to support external financial reporting requirements.
- Must have a working knowledge of U.S Government FAR and CAS regulations and insure adherence.
- Development, management and leadership of Federal Systems finance team.
- Provide strong and effective financial partnership to business leaders within Federal Systems and outside.
- Ensure accuracy of Federal Systems P & L, cash and balance sheet forecasts and budgets, explain any major variances and drive performance improvement opportunities.
- Understand and continuously improve Federal Systems manufacturing costing and process.
- Monitor Federal Systems credit and collections, improving cash management and forecasting and reducing financial risks within Federal Systems.
- Work collaboratively with other company personnel within finance and outside including quality, financial excellence and similar initiatives.
- A working knowledge of Government contracting specifically, FAR, CAS and ITAR compliant contracts.
- A working knowledge of EAC (Estimate at Completion) Accounting.
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or CPA or CMA.
- 15+ years of experience in Finance/Operations role with P & L experience dealing with Federal Contracts.
- 5+ years in a senior finance executive role.
- Recent experience in a $2Billion+, publicly-held, international manufacturing business.
Preferred:
- Electronic Manufacturing Services background.
- Training in an implementation of lean and six sigma and finance excellence.
- Oracle, SAP, or BAAN environment.
