Quality Inspection Supervisor
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspection Supervisor to lead our team of quality inspectors and manage our inspection processes.. This role encompasses directing inspection activities, training and supervising inspectors, pinpointing areas for enhancement, and keeping precise quality records. The Quality Inspection Supervisor will collaborate across departments to maintain product flow and uphold our company's dedication to superior products and services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of quality inspectors, providing leadership, guidance and training.
- Schedule and assign tasks to quality inspectors to ensure efficient coverage of production lines.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on the performance of direct reports, including performance reviews and addressing disciplinary actions as needed.
- Participate in the interviewing and hiring process for new inspection team members.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and policies.
- Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials, components, and finished goods against specified quality standards, blueprints, and specifications using various measuring instruments and techniques to ensure timely and accurate delivery of quality products.
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations, company standards, and customer requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IPC standards).
- Ensure the documentation of the inspection results, maintain comprehensive inspection records, and generate reports on findings.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks or delays in the inspection department to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Identify and resolve recurring quality issues, analyze data for trends, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Lead or participate in root cause analysis and failure analysis investigations.
- Document and track corrective actions, ensuring their effectiveness.
- Communicate significant quality issues and developments to management and recommend process enhancements.
- Prepare and present quality reports to management.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality.
- Participate in internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the QMS and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate the disposition of non-conforming materials and participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
- Maintain a clean,safe and organized work environment in accordance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Promote and enforce all plant safety regulations and company policies.
- Address customer quality concerns and inquiries.
- Participate in customer audits and visits.
- Ensure customer requirements are met and exceeded.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor and improve process capability.
- Participate in lean manufacturing and six sigma initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering or a related field is preferred. An Associate's degree with relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing setting, especially within an electronic manufacturing environment.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience is essential.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality control principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IPC standards).
- Proficient in using various inspection tools and measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes, multimeters, Oscilloscopes, and other testing devices).
- Experience with quality control software and data analysis tools is advantageous.
- Keen attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), knowledge of Google Suite is advantageous
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ERP/MRP quality modules
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
