Job Title: Export Analyst

Manage global trade compliance requirements and realize efficiencies in Emergent’s global supply chain

  • Assist to classify exports under their respective regulatory regimes (HTSUS, EAR, ITAR, Schedule B)
  • Work closely with the Global Logistics team to create and enforce local Global Trade Control policies and procedures in conjunction with global standards and best practices where applicable.
  • Liaise between various supply-chain functions within the enterprise, including all Emergent sites, to provide ongoing support for import and exports requiring Global Trade oversight.
  • Drive and deliver logistics and global trade control initiatives through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop implement and manage global trade compliance programs with US and International trade regulations, including but not limited to ITAR, EAR, OFAC and customs laws.
  • Obtain and manage export licenses, permits, and registrations under US and international trade regulation.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, including emerging regulations that affect trade compliance and communicate regulatory changes to affected parties
  • Manage Emergent’s restricted party screening process including ensuring all relevant business partners are screened, potential matches are reviewed and escalating restricted parties as necessary.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for global trade issues.
  • Develop and conduct assessments of our current policies to mitigate risk and initiate changes to our current program.
  • Drive continues improvement initiatives to enhance our global trade control processes.
  • Maintain and update trade compliance databases and systems.

Minimum Education, Experience, Skills

Required:

3+ years of experience U.S. export control experience (operational, government, law firm, or consulting)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of U.S. export regulations including EAR and ITAR

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills

  • Advanced degree / diploma / certificate in a relevant subject
  • Government agency or freight forwarding / custom brokerage experience (DDTC, BIS, CBP)
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research, writing, verbal communication, and project management skills
  • Familiarity with technology tools and system used to manage global trade requirements
