The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Located in California’s Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. The Fremont facility offers everything from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems. In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services.
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NC Laser Supervisor to lead our laser cutting department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NC laser operation, programming, and maintenance. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the laser cutting process, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, and strict adherence to safety protocols. The supervisor will be a hands-on leader, managing a team of operators, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing process improvements.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of laser operators to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Create and manage daily work schedules and delegate tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs for team members.
- Foster a safe, positive, and collaborative work environment.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for all NC laser-related activities.
- Set up and operate NC laser cutting machines to cut and shape materials according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine settings and cutting parameters.
- Program laser cutters using machine controls or CAD/CAM software to optimize material yield and cutting speed.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or trade school certification in NC machining, laser technology or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience operating and setting up NC laser cutting machines.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Experience with specific laser systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Strong knowledge of various metal types (e.g., steel, stainless steel, aluminum) and their properties.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
- This is a full-time position, typically based in a manufacturing or fabrication facility.
- The role may require standing for long periods, bending, lifting, and operating machinery.
- The work environment can be noisy and may expose the employee to fumes or airborne particles, requiring the use of PPE.
- Overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.

Salary Range (annual): $80,000 - $99,000. Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
