Manufacturing Engineer
Position Summary
The Senior Process Engineer is a key technical leader responsible for developing, optimizing efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes for automotive electronic components and systems. This role focuses on driving continuous improvement, ensuring process stability, and supporting both Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Back-End Production (assembly, testing, and packaging) to meet stringent automotive quality standards and production targets.
Key Responsibilities

Process Development & Concept Creation:

Lead the development and implementation of new manufacturing process concepts and detailed production flows for new product introductions, ensuring alignment with product specifications and capacity requirements.

Manufacturing Experience - SMT & Back-End:

Desig of for SMT processes, including stencil printing, component placement, reflow soldering, and AOI/SPI inspection as well as inline denationalization and testing

Create and optimize Back-End production processes, including manual/automated assembly, functional testing, final quality checks, and packaging.

Documentation & Training:

Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including process designs, process concepts, Process Control Plans, and FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).

Create list of equipment as per process design including investment calculation and process time calculation

Quality & Compliance:

Ensure all processes comply with IATF 16949 and other relevant automotive industry quality standards.

Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain low defect rates and high process capability (Cp and C{pk}).

Communication & Collaboration:

Act as a technical liaison between Customers, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams.

Clearly communicate technical concepts, project status, and business impact to both internal stakeholders and external suppliers/customers, often utilizing business English in a global environment.

Required Key Experiences and Skills
-
Proven experience in creating robust process concepts and production flow documentation and implementation within a high-volume / low volume manufacturing environment.

Extensive, hands-on manufacturing experience in SMT (Surface Mount Technology), specifically with automated placement, soldering profiles, and inspection equipment.

Significant experience in Back-End Production processes, including final assembly, programming, functional testing, and environmental testing of electronic modules.

High proficiency in Business English (written and verbal) for effective communication, documentation, and international collaboration.

Demonstrated ability to apply process engineering tools such as FMEA, SPC, 8D's methodology, and Lean principles.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Experience: Minimum of $5+$ years of experience as a Process Engineer, with a significant portion in the automotive or high-reliability electronics sector.
