VP of Engineering with emphasis on Electronic and Microelectronics -  

Job Purpose: 

The VP of Engineering will manage the development teams. 

Nature of Duties:

  • Ensuring that the products meet design requirements, and deliver a consistent experience for users
  • Manages an entire team of engineers and developers, collaborating with the product managers, as well as guiding the company’s product vision and maintaining compliance with quality standards.
  • Ensuring that design requirements are met, overseeing the consistency of user experiences, and managing a team of engineers and developers. 

Technical leadership

  • Responsible for co-developing the technical strategy with the division president and for developing and maintaining a technical roadmap that will continue to innovate from a technical standpoint.
  • The VP Engineering may personally serve as a systems architect, or may assign another engineer to assume that role. 

Strategy development

  • VP Engineering serves as part of the senior staff, working in an interdisciplinary manner with their peers in other departments (e.g. Marketing, Business Development team, VP Manufacturing and Ops) as well as the division president to develop company strategy and product strategy

1.     Design, implement, and monitor all operations and key performance metrics/operational efficiency for the engineering team

2.     Know how to recruit and develop top engineering talent

3.     Develop standards and procedures to ensure quality standards are met and maintained

4.     Maintain and optimize budgets to meet goals

5.     Understand and collaborate on the complete product lifecycle from concept to execution

6.     Recommends new technology and ideas to improve sprints and efficiency

7.     Build, develop, and manages the engineering team capable of carrying out initiatives

Education and Experience:

·B.S.E.E, and an advanced degree MS in a technical field required (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.)

·15+ years of experience in engineering leadership with 10+ years experience leading an engineering team 

Ø  Experience working with both software development and with hardware engineering

Ø  Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills with the ability to explain approach to all levels in the organization including key stakeholders 

Ø  Able to think strategically and see the big picture

Ø  Proven success working closely with Product Management, contributing to the product strategy and helping to successfully deliver on the product roadmap

·In addition,

·Develop strategies to design new products and incorporate effective technology to ensure dominant position in market.

·Administer market position of company and coordinate with customers and sales and marketing team to design effective strategies to improve same.

·Establish methods to improve technology resources for company and ensure effective product utilization.

·Coordinate with R&D department and prepare plans for effective integration of various technical skills.

·Design strategic plans to provide effective product development.

·Facilitate in optimal utilization of carious engineering resources and ensure compliance to customer development.

·Analyze and document product specification for various marketing trends.

·Coordinate with directors and senior members and ensure appropriate utilization of resources.

·Assist human resource department in recruitment of staff and ensure appropriate functioning of production process.

·Prepare efficient evaluation system for production process to maximize productivity.
